Abagatan ti Manila Garden Restaurant
Not everyone knows that Abagatan ti Manila has a Garden Restaurant and is open to the public. Yes, even if you're not a guest in their hotel. I recently shared my review and experience of our staycation at their hotel. I decided to do this post separately so I can share my thoughts and focus on the food and the restaurant itself.

Abagatan ti Manila is an Ilocano phrase that means “South of Manila”. They have a hotel, events place, garden restaurant, and cafe. They serve all-day breakfast, Filipino cuisine, pasta, pizza, wine, beer, and other liquors. I highly suggest that you order and try their specialty Ilocano dishes.
THE GARDEN RESTAURANT
I was able to try their Garden Cafe for the first time when we were invited to the grand opening of Kap'ean Coffee, a cafe also located at Abagatan ti Manila. We were served breakfast and lunch.
And since we get to experience the hotel recently, we were able to try it again, and this time with their best or signature Ilocano and Filipino dishes.
This is what their Garden Restaurant looks like. It's 100% al fresco dining.
But it's really mostly these tents and umbrellas. In case you're wondering what if it rains or what about during the night. I gotchu!
These photos were taken when we arrived at the restaurant for dinner. It was 6pm I think. I just used a filter for these photos because I thought it will look cool. Haha!
There were ducks and fishes on the pond. You can actually fish here if you're a guest at the hotel because it is included. I'm not sure about the restaurant customers though.
This is what it looks like at night without a filter (photo below). The rain made it cozier. The lights were so colorful but it is still dim though. It's actually not an issue. But ofc for us bloggers, we need good lighting to produce great photos, especially for food.
THE FOOD
These are the photos that I got. Please bear with me. Haha. I swear the photos didn't give justice to how delicious these foods are! Most of their signature and Filipino dishes are good for sharing.
ILOCANO AND TAGALOG SPECIALTY DISHES
Since Alfonso is close to Tagaytay, ofc they have Bulalo Soup. What I like about their Bulalo is the tenderness of the meat. It was well cooked and easy to chew. It is served using the traditional palayok or clay pot.
What I like most is their Bagnet Kare-Kare. This is by far my favorite among the specialty dishes we tried. The Bagnet was perfectly cooked. The skin was crunchy and the meat was soft inside. I really like how it goes well with the kare-kare.
As for the Dinakdakan, this is my first time encountering this kind. Because the Dinakdakan I know is like Sisig. But as you can see in the photo, it's like Ensalada to me. I guess it's their own twist! The meat and veggies are chopped thickly and they used Bagnet as meat also.
The Bagnet used in their Pakbet Bagnet is also the same as kare-kare which makes it good as well! This is the first time I tried Ilocano Empanada and it's surprisingly good!
ALL-DAY FILIPINO AND AMERICAN BREAKFAST
We went back here for our breakfast the next day of our staycation. It was included in the booking. I was able to try their breakfast at the Kap'ean grand opening. I ordered Corned Beef back then while I ordered Beef Tapa and Hot Chocolate during our staycation.
I was able to take photos of the orders of my co-bloggers from the grand opening and staycation. Haha! The breakfast was actually pretty expensive for me. It's actually simple but the presentation is really good!
The photos above are the All-Day Filipino Breakfast which includes rice, scrambled egg or sunny side up, and Filipino viand. The photos below are the All-Day American Breakfast which includes bread, hashbrowns, and ham/sausages.
During the Kap'ean grand opening, they also served this Abatagan Hamburger and it's also good! I'm not sure if it really looks like this. The difference might be the serving but I guess it's pretty much it.
REVIEW
The breakfast is pretty expensive because it is only a single serving. The Ilocano and Filipino dishes that we've tried are really good and I can definitely recommend them to you. It might be a little pricey too but the serving is big and enough for groups. The ambiance is a plus. It's really beautiful and relaxing at the same time. Their staff is friendly and attentive. The serving time might take a little longer.
