Enjoy Filipino Food and the Overlooking View of Taal Lake at Lawa Cafe
Looking for a cafe that serves Filipino food with the perfect view of Taal Lake? I gotchu! Lawa Cafe offers Filipino food and unique drinks that you will enjoy while looking at the picturesque view of Taal Volcano.
LAWA CAFE📍 Lawa Cafe, Maharlika West, Tagaytay City (beside Gerry’s Grill)
LOCATION
Lawa Cafe is located just across SMDC Wind Residences and beside Gerry's Grill.
THE PLACE
The cafe was an open space back when we went here last March or April. There are some changes now. They now have a roof since it's already rainy season now. Will update this when I visit them again.
THE VIEW
It was the perfect day when we went there. The sun was out and the skies are blue! Making it possible to capture this picturesque view of Taal Volcano and Tagaytay Ridge.
For me, this is the perfect view of Taal Lake because it is close to the volcano and it is right in front of you. The ridges are not obstructing the view. It is actually included in the view making you appreciate Taal and Tagaytay.
Imagine you're eating here with your loved ones or family. It's sunny but also windy at the same time. Tagaytay weather it is! Isn't this amazing?! Plus they serve Filipino food!
THE FOOD
They have coffee and non-coffee beverages available. I love that they have refreshments other than coffee! You can assure that they have good coffee because they use quality ingredients like Torani.
The first thing that captured my eyes when I browsed their Instagram is this Puto Pancake and Bibingka Pancake. I love pancakes and kakanin so this is really interesting for me!
Of course, it won't be complete without the Bulalo! Especially since Tagaytay is known for it. Actually, this is one I can recommend because the meat is soft and not chewy. It's a plus that they use eco-friendly bowls, plates, and utensils. Right?
Sorry for the typo but this is their Chicharong Bulaklak. The one on the right is the Pancit Guisado which is surprisingly good. It's like pancit habhab but with a twist.
This is their Beef Pares and Grilled Liempo. I tried the Beef Pares and it's good!
For the drinks, I first got the Hot Tsokolate (Chocolate). By far, this is what I want or what I am looking for in hot chocolate. It is not super thick but the chocolate taste is evident and it's kinda sweet. This is a perfect pair for the Puto and Bibingka Pancakes.
We got the Salted Lake Latte for coffee and Sunrise Tea Cooler for refreshment. I think this is their best seller or signature drink. It's pretty good! They are both colorful and flavorful too. Salted Lake Latte has purple on top but it doesn't show up in the photo.
VERDICT
Having this kind of view is definitely a plus. But they have good food and coffee, so it's really worth it for me. Especially if you're into Filipino food. It is a great place for your loved ones, family, and friends. Kids will also like it here because of the outdoor space. You might think that it is expensive here but it is actually affordable to mid-range. Definitely, a nice place to visit!
