I'm so happy to find new cafes in Trece Martires City, Cavite. Here's one cafe that I found and you may want to add it to your list! KANLUNGAN CAFE 🍃 is a boho-chic plantita-themed cafe with a peaceful ambiance. They offer coffee, non-coffee beverages, tea, all-day breakfast, pasta, and more.
Kanlungan Cafe
📍 Cabuco, Trece Martires City, Cavite
The name of this cafe is very meaningful. Kanlungan means shelter. You'll actually find it true as it is a peaceful place away from the city.
When I was searching for cafes near General Trias and Trece, Kanlungan Cafe is on the top list. I was also tagged by someone I know on Instagram so I saved it. I was able to try it last November or December. It was a rainy night but I was craving iced coffee so I asked Joseph if we can go here.
It is located somewhere past SM Trece. It took us just 10 minutes to get there since there was no traffic. It was still raining when we got there. We were accompanied by their parking attendant or staff since we didn't have an umbrella. He was so friendly and helpful.
I was supposed to just order to-go drinks. The place looks nice so I asked Joseph if we can dine in instead. I ordered at the counter. They were supposed to close by 7 or 8 o'clock since it was still pandemic and there were restrictions. But since there are still people dining in so they extended that night.
It's a themed cafe and it gives boho-chic plantita vibes. I never thought I'll find a cafe like this in Trece. Since we went there at night, my photos are not that clear when I used my camera at a wide-angle. Sorry!
It's 100% al fresco dining. And as far as I remember, the plants inside are real. I bet it is much better during the day.
It's very aesthetic and instagramable! So inviting especially for Gen Z and Millennials like me.
They have a restroom and the outside looks like this. As someone who loves to take mirror photos, I took this shot ofc! Haha.
THE MENU
The names on their menu are so unique. They based it on the names of their Barangays in Trece Martirez City. Click here to view: facebook.com/kanlungancafe/menu
THE FOOD
We ordered Iced Osorio Macchiato (170 pesos) and Hot White Mochabezas (150 pesos). Both are coffee-based. I should've ordered a frappe instead. Hehe! I wanted iced coffee that night but I end up liking the hot one more.
We haven't had dinner so we ordered Lapidario Bolognese (215 pesos) and French Fries (150 pesos). I know it looks good in the photos. But for me, there's nothing extraordinary. It's still good though! Can be good for sharing since the serving is big.
I was definitely not prepared to drop by here as I was wearing my house clothes that night. Haha!
THE VERDICT
Kanlungan Cafe is a pioneer in Trece Martires City so I get the hype. The place is catchy and cozy. It's very unique. The price here is mid-range for food but pretty expensive for the drinks. I appreciate that they have a lot of choices on their menu. The food and drinks that we ordered are just okay for me. The drinks I ordered are their best sellers though. Maybe it's also my choice of food. But overall, we had a great experience here. But there's still room for improvements. They were not responsive on their socials when the time I messaged them. I hope they do now.
