Dasique Soft Velvet Lipstick Swatches and Review

It's been a long time since I posted a beauty review here on my blog and I actually miss doing skincare and makeup reviews. This is actually where I started. Nevertheless, I am planning to do a few in the next coming months. 

So for today, I will be doing swatches and a review of the Dasique Soft Velvet Lipstick in Nudy Pecan and Maple Latte. 

Dasique is a South Korean cosmetics brand. Aside from the soft velvet lipstick, they also have eye palettes, gloss tints, and so much more. This is my first time trying their product. 

PACKAGING

As expected from a South Korean brand, their packaging is always on point and most are minimalist.

The product comes with a box that has almost the same style as the product itself. The box was actually thinner than I expected but it does the job of protecting the product. 

As for the product itself, the shape of the lipstick is in a box shape in matte beige color. Their logo is engraved at the top while their name is printed in rose gold on the body. It is a bit minimalist. It feels lightweight. 

It looks classy. It might be lightweight but it doesn't feel cheap at all.

The closing part is magnetic and it's pretty sturdy. I'm quite impressed. You won't get worried that the product will not open and splurge on your bag. 

You can find the shade at the bottom of the product. The color of the sticker corresponds to the shade of the lipstick. The Nudy Pecan looks peachy here which is probably because of the lighting. 

THE PRODUCT

This is what the lipstick looks like side by side. The product on the tube is just the right amount for my preference. It doesn't make the product too long and it doesn't easily break.

SWATCHES

Nudy Pecan is a peach nude while Maple Latte is a pink nude. As you can see in the photo, the texture is true to its claims. It is soft velvet. 

It looks pigmented if you look at the product. But when you apply it on the lips, it is actually sheer and the shade kinda looks different. The photo above is with natural lighting (sunset). I put on my lip balm that's why it looks satin here.

This is what it looks like on natural lighting without direct sunlight. I'm not into peach shades so I don't really feel the Nudy Pecan. I don't think it compliments me, just my preference.

VERDICT

This review will be short and direct to the point. I think I expected so much of this product because of the packaging. However, on the performance of the lipstick, it's not just for me. It doesn't sit on my lips really well especially Nudy Pecan. It can also be patchy when applied and it emphasizes the cracks on my lips. 

If you have dry lips like me, I think it'll be hard to work on. Or maybe it is best to use it with another product to achieve ombre lips. It's also not long-lasting and doesn't stain much on the lips. 

You know that I am honest in my reviews, but this is just my preference and experience. Some products might not work for me, but they may work for you.
