Comparison Review of Sunnies Face Lip Dip and Happy Skin Lip Mallow Mousse
Lip product is a staple on my bag and it the makeup that I can't live without. These two lip products are my most used and I can't leave the house without them. I am talking about the Sunnies Face Lip Dip in Coco and Happy Skin Lip Mallow Mousse in Fudge.
I read a few online comments comparing these two. Since I have them both, I thought I can share with you a comparison review so you would know if these two are really the same. People also compared them especially the Sunnies Face Lip Dip with 3CE Velvet Lip Tints but I don't have that so I won't be sharing a review on that. Haha!
OVERVIEW & PACKAGING
The Sunnies Face Lip Dip is a whipped matte lip cream. It was launched in July 2019 and it was hyped af back then. It was easily soldout online and even on stores. I originally wanted to buy Femmebot but it is out of stock when I was in Makati and online. I swatched the other shades on my lips and Coco looks surprisingly good on my lips so I bought it. It never crossed my mind that I would buy this one because it looks dark on the swatches I see online. I think it looked good on me because I have pale lips and the other shades didn't compliment my skin tone. It has Vitamin E for extra moisturizing feel.
COCO is a toasted chestnut shade.
Sunnies Face is known for their minimalist packaging. The tube has no labels and the color of the tube corresponds to the shade which is very much the same in color. Sunnies Face Lip Dip retails for 395 pesos and can be bought online through Lazada and Shopee. They also can be bought at their physical stores.
The Happy Skin Lip Mallow is a velvety air-whipped formula that wraps the lips in a weightless cloud of smooth color with a cushion-soft powder matte finish. It has Cranberry Seed Oil which provides ultimate softness and moisture and SPF 15 for sun protection. They just released this line just a few months ago if I remember it correctly and they recently released more shades. I was so torn which shade to buy and just like Coco, Fudge unexpectedly suits my skin tone best. I was using it for week when I noticed that the shades that I bought are very much close. Haha!
FUDGE is a hazelnut shade.
It has a very simple packaging too. It has a box but I don't have it anymore. The color of the tube also corresponds to the shade of the lip tint. The brand, line, and shade are written on the body of the tube. The Happy Skin Lip Mallow retails for 549 pesos and can be bought online through Lazada, Shopee, BeautyMNL and Zalora. You can also buy them at Watsons and SM Department stores.

PACKAGING
The Sunnies Face Lip Dip has its label engraved on the top part of the tube. Both have the labels at the bottom.
This is where they have a huge difference - the applicator and the stopper. When you open both of the tube, this is what it looks like. I am not sure if this is just happened to me or the Sunnies Face Lip Dip is really kinda messy on this part but it doesn't leak on the outside. On the other hand, the Happy Skin Lip Mallow is clean. Please let me know if this also happen to you.
Both has a doe foot applicator but a different appearance. Since the Happy Skin Lip Mallow is taller, it has a longer applicator and the tip is smaller making it easier to apply the product. The Sunnies Face Lip Dip has a short applicator but the tip is longer and more pointed.
SWATCHES
COCO is a toasted chestnut shade.
FUDGE is a hazelnut shade.
Coco is more on the red brown while Fudge is on an orange brown. But when they are applied on the lips they look somehow related. Maybe my skin tone affects it.
REVIEW
Both of these lip tints are really good as expected from two of Philippines' largest brand. I already written their differences as what I've researched. Now, I am going to tell you my thoughts on these products.
I've been using the Sunnies Face Lip Dip for quite a long time now and it is my go-to lip product ever since I bought it. I love the lip blurring effect because the product blends on the lips well and it looks very natural. It is highly pigmented but it doesn't stain on the lips. I know a lot of us got disappointed on this. If this stains on the lips and last long, this would be the perfect product for me. Haha! I also use this on my cheeks and eyes and it stays much longer.
I was hesitant at first to buy the Happy Skin Lip Mallow Mousse because of the price. It is expensive for a local brand, but we all know that Happy Skin is not cheap. Hehe! But with all of its skin care components, I think it is worth it. I love the applicator that comes with it because I can put the product on my lips precisely. It emphasizes the dry parts of my lips when worn in full so I have to moisturize first before using it. I tried the lip blurring using this one and it didn't end up like the lip dip. But it ended up looking very natural too. I don't use this on my cheeks and eyes because it leaves marks where I put it and it is not that blendable. Another thing that I like about this one is it leaves a stain and stays much longer.
To me, these two products are not really the same even though they claim to be both as a mousse. They have different pros and cons as well, but I love them! Haha. They are worth it and I can recommend both. If you are torn between the two, I advice that you get the one based on your preferences since I already gave a comparison review. Or maybe, you can get both? Haha!
