I Tried The Famous Oh My Gulay in Baguio
There are a lot of restaurants in Baguio but I only got to try the famous Oh My Gulay when I went there last month! Haha. I was interested to try this restaurant because of the reviews I saw online. It is pretty famous and is highly recommended by most people.
📍 Fortune Care, 108, Session Rd, Baguio, 2600 Benguet (5th floor)
It is also accessible since it is just along Session Road and it is just a few minute walk from our transient house. Oh My Gulay is a vegetarian restaurant, hence the name.
I actually had a hard time looking for this restaurant. We were looking for it to have dinner. We gave that night and went to Chowking instead. Haha! I almost gave up! Haha. Good thing, I've decided to look for it again the next day for brunch.
There were no signage outside, I think? Or I just didn't saw it. Haha! I just looked for it through Google map and I asked some of the locals. Lo and behold, I found it but it took me like five floors because I didn't know it was at the top most part of the building and they didn't have an elevator. Hiningal ako beshy! Haha! 😂
I admit, I got really stressed looking for this restaurant. But upon entering, my stress faded because of this hidden oasis in Session Road. Good thing I did not gave up! Haha. It was an adventure, indeed!
I feel like this is an great escape from the crowd in Session Road. Haha. The place is so serene. They have trees and plants inside the restaurant. You can dine at the upper part or near the balcony. It is spacious but only half of the place have the tables. The center part is like a tranquil.
This is the view from the balcony part. Though, it may be a bit warm if you want to sit and eat here (depends on the weather). It's really a good place.
I was alone when I dined here.
Here's what I ordered:
🍄 Heneral Luna's Punyetang Shitake (175 pesos)
▪️ Mushrooms, Bechamel Sauce, Cheddar Cheese
▪️ Their version of Carbonara. It's really creamy and saucy.
🍄 Kapitan Kabute Omelette (160 pesos)
▪️ Omelette with Mushrooms, Onions, Toast
▪️ I almost cannot able to tell that there are mushroom in this.
🍋 Limonada (108 pesos)
▪️ Freshly squeezed native lemonade.
Total: 443 pesos
Verdict ⭐ 4.5/5
It is a really good place with the view and the relaxing vibe. They have delicious and affordable food. Now I know why most people recommend it. I think most dishes on their menu can be for sharing. The ones I ordered are really in a huge serving especially the pasta. I was not able to finish it all by myself even though I was really hungry that time. Haha! The staff are attentive and friendly. The only issue I had with them is the location. It is accessible because it is along Session Road but they lack signage which makes it a bit harder to find. I'd definitely go back to try the other dishes on their menu if I happen to be in Baguio again. 😁
